Believe, with Jesus you can!

The annual Schoenstatt Girls Winter Camp took place from June 25th to 28th, 2024, under the inspiring motto, “Believe, with Jesus, you can!” This year, the camp saw a wonderful increase in participation, with attendance growing from around 40 girls last year to an impressive 57. We are grateful to the Schoenstatt Sisters for finding space for so many young women. The camp was a remarkable experience, filled with moments of sharing faith and building lasting friendships.

What did we do at the camp? At the camp, we embarked on a journey of self-discovery through a series of engaging activities and inspiring talks. Each day was filled with opportunities for the girls to explore their inner strengths and uncover their true potential. Much like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly, each individual holds immense growth potential. We believe that each person is uniquely gifted by God, who has bestowed upon us incredible capabilities and loves us profoundly.

In the mornings, we began with reflective sessions that encouraged the girls to think deeply about their personal goals and dreams. These sessions were guided by the older leaders who shared their own stories of growth and transformation, providing powerful examples of how to overcome challenges and embrace one’s unique gifts. We had times of prayer in the Shrine and of course plenty of fun and games..

In Schoenstatt we believe that our Lady offers us three graces from the Shrine. The grace of a home, of inner transformation and a mission. The grace of transformation from the Schoenstatt Shrine is a special gift that helps you grow spiritually and become a better version of yourself. It invites you to experience a deep change in your heart, guided by God’s love. This grace empowers you to live out your faith with passion and purpose, making a positive impact in your life and the lives of others.

We received some beautiful testimonies from girls who experienced this grace of transformation. One girl shared that before coming to the camp, she felt like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders and was sinking. However, after three days at Schoenstatt, she found the strength to believe that God has given her so much to carry because she can. She regained her courage. Another girl testified that she realized her attitude towards her family should change, and her home life has dramatically improved. Another girl said that she learned she could communicate with God. Our motto for the camp was “Believe, with Jesus, you can!” and the youth experienced this firsthand. The girls left feeling more connected to their faith and empowered by the supportive community they had formed.
